It's not the body stiffness that's a problem on the road...

It's the suspension stiffness

A Volvo 850 saloon is still twice as stiff as my F

My F should be a fair bit torsionally stiffer than a stock F

Pair that with uprated suspension and it should be a hoot

Volvo 850 saloon stiffness of 18,600 Nm/degree

MGF Torsional Stiffness: 7100Nm/degree

BMW Z3 Torsional Stiffness: 5600Nm/degree

Lotus Elise Torsional Stiffness: 10500Nm/degree

A stiff body does NOT mean a harsh ride...

But it does mean better handling..

Concrete is flexible too...

Race/rally cars are space frames... These are a lot stronger and stiffer than our F/TFs

Look at the Ariel Atom... Naked space frame....

I know next to nothing... I spent 2 weeks looking in front of my F for the engine lol

Have you thought about Weight distribution Allan? I know it's removable but are you going to add weight to the front end to counteract the missing wheel?

Yer the tyre coming out at the front does make a difference..

Options are:

Try it without anything in place of the spare..

Or the other old trick we used to do.. Sand bag up front

Time will tell

Engine dropped into Hellier this morning..

E mail sent to QED about ITBs and which ones to use..

Just booked my anual leave...

2 weeks at xmas..

1 week in Feb

1 week in March

1 week in April

1 week in May

1 week in July

To get car finished... (hopefully) before 2 weeks off in August for a Euro trip in the car
