well done allan, these cars need people like you to keep them fresh and to also show people what can be done.its a real credit to you and I would love to see your car when it is done.to spend both your time and your hard earnt cash cant be ignored.Im sure there are always people that have bad things to say,but those people you tend to find never do anything with their lives anyway,
Im sure everyone at the mets will love to see what you have achived,I know I will.A very impressive list and Im sure it will be a very impressive car.And I know how much time it would have taken to build this car and that would be in your spare time as well.
so well done it sounds an amazing car

Mamouth task but from talking to you i can see it will all come together just fine, keep it up .

Question: is the hardtop going to be permanantly fixed to the car Im guessing yes as your putting in a scoop. giving it the exige look

Allan all the negative people are over on the other side. The 'can do' people are here, that's why I'm spending increasing amounts of time here instead of over there :)

Decent list. The only thing missing is build schedule..... Oh and your first track day booking.

By way of contrast here's the spec of my MGF

2001 Y Reg Mk2 F 1.8i

Mods on car when I bought it

After market plastic windstop

Interior alloy look dash kit and tax disc holder

My Mods

Green Hood ex Rayb

Replaced headlamp reflectors with help from Rayb (actually I mainly watched Ray change them while I passed him the odd tool! )and uprated headlamp bulbs so I can actually drive at night

Citroen Xsara washer jets

MGCC and MGF Register stickers either side of the rear view mirror and matching metal badges on each front grille.

a National Trust car parking sticker

Oh yes and a Silver hardtop for winter use (too soft thats just the way I am)

Planned future mods

None at present

My point is they are our cars and we'll do what we like to them and don't need snidey comments ..

allan did build this car for himself, and as its for him its to his taste,we get people coming down ordering cars in colours that I wont have choosen.
allan has work hard and i think we should see the workmanship and what he has achived to build a car to what he wants,Ok some bits he has done will not appeal to every one but that isnt a reflection of his work or his vision. We have noticed something on his car that we want to fit on our new cars.and that is how people have got where we are, people invent improve and because of that we get better

Coffee... not everyones cup of tea..

I forgot the Spax adjustable shocks :spank:

The hard top will eventually be ducted into the top of the engine bay.. but will still be able to remove the hard top when the sun shines (both days) and the ducting should unplug'

Plan once the car is totally finished is to make a 'pod' themed on the Ferrari 458 to cover the soft top when its folded..

Im bound to get 'haters' once the car is finished.. as there will be NO MG badges anywhere on the car.. and the car will look different.. but hey..

First track day John?? No idea..

Build schedule.. when its finished lol..

As Daz says.. Im doing it in my spare time and I seem to have little of that just recently.. but hey.. every hour spent on it is an hour nearer to it being finished I guess..

I am no designer.. but can visualise stuff in my head.. and make it up as I go along..

Ive built/modded a few cars now.. last summer was a mates 4x4.. complete with 'arty' cage

As said before.. this post/ list is not to brag.. but to hopefully encourage, inspire and give others ideas..

Different is good in my book... take a risk.. enjoy your car
