Idle speed adjustment 3 years 8 months ago #194155

Hi everyone, I have a 2.0 T-series in my discovery. The ecu is a 1.6.

When I was fiddling the other day I noticed the idle set speed on pscan.eu live data was at 0, so I went into the tuning feature and adjusted the idle set speed to the highest setting of +200rpm. The engine seemed to run smoother and the idle set speed in the live data went up to about 198rpm.

So couple of questions.
1. Is it possible to tune the idle speed to 850rpm through pscan?

2. Is it normal for the idle set speed to be 0rpm?

3. Should I try to change it or just leave it as is?

Thanks in advance
Rob.

I don't think that it's possible to adjust it more than plus or minus 200 rpm.

I guess that idle set speed isn't the actual idle speed, but he difference between what the ECU expects and and what is actually happening. The problem is that most of these parameters were reverse engineered out of a T4 on the bench and not with actual running vehicles, so it's not always obvious what the T4 meant.

Ah I see, no worries. The engine runs well so I suppose I shouldn't mess with it. After all don't fix something that ain't broke.
