You will need to free the (6 IIRC) clips which hold the trim to the panel behind.  Some will probably break!

They are behind the top facia of the Tbar, they can be a bit of a swine to unclip as quite a lot of force is needed to get them to move, a lot of them will break! Just keep levering it and it will free up. Good luck.

The clips holding the Tbar on are similar to the things that hold door cards in place. Inevitably one or more will break. I bought a couple from 'Bitz the first time I removed mine - and ended up breaking one of them again the next time I removed it. It will still fit back perfectly ok though with one or two of those plastic clips missing, doesnt seem to need the full set

There is a trick to doing quotes with the new version of the forum software.
You need to first click the quote button then once the new window comes up, you need to start waving your cursor under the post you wish to quote.  If you get this bloody silly procedure right a dotted red line with a red box containing an arrow will appear. click on that little red box then proceed to type your reply to the quote.
 

 


It's a bloody stupid, poorly thought out "improvement" by the forum software supplier, not something that I think we can do anything about.

Thanks, Cobber, I will try that procedure next time I want to use Quote, but I suspect I will revert to high - lighting the piece of text I want to quote,then use cut & paste that text into a reply with "so-and-so said "pasted text" followed by my reply.

As ever, your explanation is clear & helpful, with proper illustrations which are invaluable.

Unfortunately, if you use an android tablet(like me) Cobber's method still doesn't work, which pees me off greatly,🤣

I`ve removed the plastic cover ,to get at the hood bolts .If it wasn`t for the Forum I wouldn`t have had a clue what to do after I`d remover the three screws and the deflector blocks When a member said the plastic cover was tight ,wow tighter than a ducks backside and that`s water tight !!! Are there just the two bolts as in the photo to lift the hood and frame off .If so that`s amazing ,I restored a Triumph Stag some tome ago and had to buy another hood for it .There were three bolts holding each side and when the bolts were finger tight it was a few hours job to get the hood in the correct position  Still talking about tightness I removed the old oil filter this morning  ,after flushing the engine with 5lt flushing oil and I have never in 25+ years of restoring cars had a filter so tight .It took me over an hour to remove it .Even with a chain clamp and two hands pushing the chain lever it was solid .After driving a long screw driver through the filter a couple of times and then a lot of force did it come off .Once the seal had broken it unscrewed as normal .   

Yes just 4 bolts holding the hood frame, you say about oil filter removal I've had the same problem in the past, and as you done I've often reverted to the screwdriver method. Now I've bought a removing tool that clamps like the mole grips, but not used it yet. When you come to refit the top of the T bar facia use some petroleum jelly or silicone grease on the pins, makes it easier to remove again. Keep up the good work. Glyn.

Just 2 bolts on each side to hold the hood mechanism. It's advisable to put some bungee straps or similar round the hood to stop it from opening. Assuming the clips at the rear edge of the hood are undone then the whole hood frame can be lifted out of the car when the 2 bolts each side are removed. It may be best to have someone help you to lift, more to avoid any chance of the frame scratching the paintwork than it being a particularly heavy weight.
