Well, lets face it, apart from all the intelligence on my car, I also have received important tips on sartorial elegance, I had for instance no idea that orange cravats were available and indeed so fashionable, orange contrasting beautifully with the blue floral pattern three piece crushed velvet suit I prefer to drive in.
That alone has to be worth a tenner of anyone's hard earned.

Does the little badge show up on our profile i've donated yesterday but can't see it?

Donated! This forum seems a worthwhile place to stick around for. Also loving the fact that my receipt is number 00005

Its been mentioned to me that members use the rank badge (Spanner Gauge) to judge the knowledge / validity of the poster, Whilst his gauge is only based on total post count, it is perhaps a good visual guide.
As a site supporter do you prefer the Site supporter badge, or would you prefer to retain your current spanner rank?

My spanner rank is non-existent so I don't really have a vote here. But I'd personally default to using post count and potential moderator status over "spanner rank"
Especially cause the "Site Supporter" rank and badge serves as a subtle and unobtrusive reminder that donating is an option. Without actually stating/advertising it.

Before they moved on there we’re a husband & wife duo who were knowledgeable, attentive & amusing. I followed their posts, being inspired solely by there spanner rating, this was wise & as a newcomer, I learned a lot about my newly acquired car & the tenner of the site.
The multispannered members, with the exception of one or two could be relied upon to guide the less familiar.
Certainly the number of spanners is a reflection of the post count but it takes a while to fill all the slots. In that time a contributor has to have proven their worth, otherwise Cobber’s acerbic wit would have eroded their value & our Headmaster would have Banned them.
An absolute grunt could stump up a fiver & be classified as on a par with the very knowledgeable Notanumber.
The abandoning of the spanner rating is, I consider, a retrograde step & I accept the post number is still present, but a quick visual que is much easier to absorb at a glance than a numerical one.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the nod Mike but I dont consider myself very knowledgable. Lately Ive been more of a seeker of knowledge than a provider I fear.

I've made a tweak, which retains the spanners, but places Site Supporter underneath, have applied this is to Airportable for now, Does that work?
