Blatant stuff. They are blatantly good alarms at a blatantly fair price that blatantly prevents a blatant overheating risk to our cars. So heres hoping the moderators will blatantly turn a blind eye.:drive:

Land Rover Discovery 1 had the same looking window mirror switch on the dash, although the position of the electrical connection on the back is different. Might be work seeing if you can find on in a scrap yard, AMR2498.

I seem to recall having one in bits a while ago as I used the space vacated by it to reposition my start button. IIRC there are a couple of clips on the back which can be gently prised open & the back pops of (or is it the front). This gives you access to the contacts & it might be possible to locate the fault & effect a repair.

The switch is basically the same as that used on many other cars, not just MG Rover but also Ford and Renault of the same period, and probably others. the switch is of Ford origin originally.

Mirror backs can be swapped easily, even between manual and electric.

All MG Rover with electric mirrors have permanently heated glass, as do manual mk1 MGF mirrors which are manual.
