Hardtop issues 2 years 5 days ago #198878

My son was driving the car today, when he suddenly heard wind noise coming from where the roof joints the front screen (we still have the hardtop on at the moment until the starlings have finished nesting). He stopped and checked it and found that the outer shell of the roof had lifted. It's a heritage roof and appears that there is the outer shell, an inner shell and the lining. I haven't had a chance to look yet but it appears that the outer and inner shells have parted company at the front edge. He used gaffer tape to hold it back together so that he could get home. Anyone had this issue before and if so, how did they repair it please? Thanks

I've never seen this mentioned before, I would suggest carefully opening it up slightly with wooden wedges (clothes pegs?) to see if it's clean inside i.e. did it just fail or over time in which case it might be full of muck. Assuming it's clean or you can clean it up I would epoxy it and clamp it until it fully sets preferably overnight.
