Has it been attempted? Given the metro subframe at the front surely somebody must have tried it out?
Not got the space, time, energy or money to give it a go myself but is it possible? It seems a fairly obvious conversion in some sense, albeit syncing the two engines and gearboxes is presumably tricky.

It’s been done but as a hybrid. The tf HPD200 had a 40hp electric motor under the bonnet, making a 4wd 200hp car. I'll see if I can find out a bit more, there was a gas turbine car built as a private project.

Have a glance at this; it gives a bit of an idea of what could have been.

I’m always impressed by the dedication of the enthusiast who invest a fortune on a project which might come to nothing.

A bit like a MGF moke............

I've had one own version of the HPD floating around in my head.

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

MG - the friendly marque.

The HPD set up is probably a better direction in the future but surely someone has put a k series in the front? For a mid engined set up the front end is unusually large so looks like it could fit.
I'm guessing the answer is a no, but it just seems more logical than many conversions of cars.
