Just bought a replacement set of 6x5 door speakers.

where can i get some form of mounting frame for them, I can only find one of the old speakers that are fitted to the mounting frame and cant see that they come apart, or can i drill more holes straight through the inside of the door.

I think you'll have to take the door card off and enlarge the hole in the door, check clearance behind before you cut.

The door speakers are round (6.5"), not oval, so you will have to make custom mounts to install 6x5 speakers in the doors.

The original round speakers are riveted to the plastic mounts.

If you peel the rubber away from the outer rim, you will find the rivet heads below it. Drill them out to separate the speaker from the mounting.

Better getting a good set of 17cm speakers. Plenty of recommendations in past threads
