Hi all,
Time is getting near to get car insured and see if all is ok before I start more thorough repairs etc

Can any one recommend any insurers fir low mileage maybe 6-8000 miles??

Or join the mgoc and go through them with discount.

Missus has and hers is around £200 comp with 8k mileage allowance, although she only did 250 miles last year.

I used Peter Best and was very pleased with their price for a low mileage TF.

Your first decision has to be 'regular' insurance or 'classic'. Classic works well with a restricted mileage and you should be able to get an 'agreed value' included BUT you will not build a no claims bonus.

I too use Peter Best with a classic insurance and am very happy with the service. To obtain the biggest discount you need to be a car club member.

I pay £220 for mine and thats in it's first year of ownership with no no claims bonus as it's a third car on a multi-car policy with Esure. My main drive was a total write-off in 2014 and I'm in my 40's. So I don't consider buying a new car and only paying £220 a lot of money considering my previous claim. But maybe it's way too high? I expect it to drop significantly this October when it'll be in year 2 and come with a no claims bonus.

I used Adrian Flux who specialise in older/classic cars as a second car policy with restricted or capped mileage, the cost was well under £200 with no accidents or licence endorsements, other things that put policy prices up are where you live (by postcode) and if the car is not kept in a locked garage overnight; plus where you park for your job during the day, like; if it's not on a private secure car park!

It's worth giving them a call for a quote.

I have used Saga for the last 3 years @ £150 a yr on a 2004 VVC and 3,000 mls

Adrian Flux, works for me, limited mileage, agreed value and don't seem to load me for performance mods

I don't mind sharing. 5,000 miles, agreed value, 120.00 (reduced premium for being a MGCC member).
