Relatively simple job, just hard work obviously. The only modification required is a pair of small circular holes to be drilled in the front inner wings of the F to allow the top of the TF suspension turret to fit.
Gary(Midlife Martyr) had this done on his Trophy F and was very happy with the result. :yesnod:

Given my time again this is the route I would take rather than the dreaded Suplex. I believe Gary had it carried out by one of the mobile MG specialists and it cost about the same as the Suplex shit kit.

Just coming up to 10 years since I had mine done - all new parts, so it was quite pricey. Very pleased with the result, helped by the Bilstein 'Comfort(!)' dampers (they're OK actually), big front brakes Mintex 1144 all round and a 4-2-1 manifold (does nothing for the handling but very good for the power output!).
If you can source a reasonable set of TF bits and spend some effort cleaning them up and painting them, fitting polybushes and decent dampers you won't go far wrong. Your biggest task will be getting all the old bolts to come out without shearing - you'll probably need lots of penetrating oil, heat and a big impact wrench!
Best of luck - it's worth it in the end...

I've been considering this as one of my front lower suspension arms is shot, the other is like new but hasn't been touched in 6 years of my ownership. Also I am fed up with the suspension going down and refurbished spheres will come in at £400. On the other hand the hydragas is better for cruising than the firmer TF.

At the front you need to disconnect the steering column, brake calipers which can be tied up to save bleeding the brakes. Depressurize the hydragas and disconnect the hoses. Drop the bumper and drop the subframe.

The back is more complex as the engine needs to come out so all pipes, hoses, wiring etc needs to be disconnected, IIRC the clutch slave cylinder can be tied out of the way, same with the brake calipers but the handbrake will need disconnecting.

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

MG - the friendly marque.
