AP Caliper Pin stuck! 10 years 3 months ago #138549

I've drilled them out before too..

New pins and copper grease..

Not sure why the APs stick so bad.. Worked on other 4 pot brakes before and pins were similar length etc and came out easy..

It seems as though because they are made of butter they squish in the hole as you try to drift them out.... reminds me of the wheel nut covers!

I had the same problem when I changed the pads on my mates TF, I ended up cutting the pins just leaving the part of the pin in that was stuck in the calliper, The end of the pin then just tapped out quite easily but the head with the spring clip on had to be drilled out!
Incidentally you are probably better getting the pins direct from AP as some sellers charge an extortionate price, from AP the pins are £1.41 each + Vat (x4) contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. good luck
