How do you tow an F without damaging it?
Need to tow mine to where I can run the engine in and then do its mot. About 4 miles away...

Cheers!!

I assume you have an auto?
If so I'd use a Dolly, but put the rear wheels on it (ie; tow it in reverse). If it's a manual then tow it in the normal way (I recommend a solid bar, not a rope. Just my personal preference!)

Using a bar would be better, you don't jolt the car.

If you can a trailer would be the best I reckon.

I don't have a bar, only rope...

No trailer either... Was more asking about towing points and towing eyes... Will have to be from the front...

Any advice appreciated, car is fully working but not tax or mot hence need to tow it to its mot (where the engine is being run in first), hence can't start the engine... Needs a very specific first start procedure.

Thanks!

Can't tow it with all four wheels on the ground if it isn't taxed MOTed and insured I'm afraid.

However if it is going to the MOT station and is insured you can drive it directly there provided it is booked.

Well as for towing, I've just nipped out and took these (admittedly they aren't the best photos ever taken!!)

This is taken from the passenger side (front to the left), it shows both the near and off side rings, which I assume are towing eyes!? Looks like my passenger side eye has been damaged, a repair required then!

And this shot of the off side one shows another eye higher up and in front of it...

As far as towing with a rope is concerned, well people have been doing it that way for years, it's just that I prefer a bar as it's more stable.

They are not tow points, they are tie down points.

So are we saying then that MG decided in their infinite wisdom NOT to build a towing point into the design on the MGF/TF?

Yup...

The car is low enough that towing it isn't a good idea. Trailer it instead.
