MIJ Exhaust then ZandF retune 10 years 11 months ago #119858

Just wondering whether its better to get the exhaust fitted first before the ECU retune, or whether to do it the opposite way round?

Always do your mods before the remap. :broon:

Yes do ALL your mods first like cone filters and bigger throttle bodies before mapping

Hi there
You can look on ebay they cost £75-£95 for a 52mm body do not be tempted to get a 55mm body as these do not work to well looking at your pic of your car you may already have a 52mm body what model is it TF 135 and TF 160 have the bigger bodies

If it is the Z&F then Mark told me it didn't matter as he is not normally doing a rolling road tune but just making adjustments based on his knowledge of where the performance was reigned in the production map. It's different if it is being mapped on a rolling road, though, then yes, get it sorted first. If you are prepared to always put RON 98/99 fuel in then Mark can make allowance for that on your map, and even as standard like mine still is the remap makes a noticeable difference.
Mine's also an LE500, do these have the smaller throttle body?

Hi Martin All the 135's have the bigger body's as do the 160ds. The bigger body's give the extra power [ along with some other ecu tweeks ] as the 135 was 120 and the 160 was 145 on the Fs

Thanks, John, so Charles and I would not need the 52mm throttle body.

So it's just an air filter and exhaust then left to do! :)
