a friend of mine has just discovered this crack in the upper shock mount.
Have you some experience as well some suggestions for repairing ?

That is bad luck. welding! but not sure

Best bet would be subframe out to re-weld..personally I'd seam weld the whole tower..

A few have had similar failures

Welding it in situ is not impossible.. But would be tricky

Has this happened with standard dampers or uprated dampers? Are they set too stiff?

we have seen this a fair bit,pot holes on our roads .easy fix really.remove the ecu,remove the shock,mobile welder would take around one hour to do it,and it can be done in he car

Just watch out for the fuel lines.

Dumpers are std ....... but due to lack of money city administration are not repairng the road pots.
We are arranging for welding, but I would try to insert a steel flat ring to be welded all around in order to enlarge the stresses area.
