If the cills have water in them, does this water find its way into the care and if so where abouts does it usually enter?

It can, through seams on the inside of the cill below the door opening.
Incidentally to remove the water in the cill - there are a number of holes in the bottom seam. They get clogged up and the cill fills with water.
Use a thin wooden/plastic pointy thing to prod the holes clear. You'll know when you've cleared it,

That could explain where the "new" pool of water is coming from.
"thin wooden/plastic pointy thing" is that a specialist tool :drive:

Very PC , spanners manning the tills :spank:

No they are the ones that help you when you go to the spares counter and ask for a set of wiper blades and end up with a window cleaners scrim.

The dolly's man the tills.

Just to counteract this I used to work on a Halfords parts desk; at the time I had coded my own map in hex for my car, built an electronic ignition system from scratch for a mechanical ignition engine, welded a kit-car chassis and built the car, built a turbocharged version of a standard NA engine; oh and worked in the motor-trade for several years in general repairs and maintenance.....

... you all take the p*ss, but you never know who you are speaking to.....

Yes, I regularly used to embarrass customers who "spoke down" to me for wearing a Halfords' uniform...

Occasionally you will find somebody who knows more than you, far more than you....

They'll also be able to spell "sill".

To the OP, a lolly stick works wonders to clear blocked drain points in the sill. The fluid is water, a mixture of condensate forming on the interior of the panels or rainwater draining. Tap the sills firmly after draining to ensure no damage has been done.

The blocked drain points should be checked often from here on in, water collecting inside sills spells big trouble.

Andy

Agree Andy.
But equally, to be fair, sometimes far less.

And, to be fair, cill is an accepted, if lesser used, alternative engineering definition for the structure also known as sill. :yesnod: look it up.

As you point out, someone may know more......far more.
