Dad is with me in Brighton and his alternator has seized. He needs to get back to Devon tomorrow. Can anyone help?

Have you tried putting a socket on the nut in the middle of the pulley an turning it with a rachet?

Thanks for the suggestion Jon :) We will be trying that first thing tomorrow morning as it was too dark and cold when found the problem!

Dad has managed to free off the alternator as in Johns' post.
