Excuse this, [engage rant mode]
Well that was a less than perfect weekend, sometimes I feel like I'm trapped in a bad country and western song. After discovering the windscreen issue and performing a repair on Friday night so my 8 year old son and I could drive to the other end of the state to see my lovely wife who is in hospital again, we got up on Saturday morning to discover that the car wouldn't start due to what appears to be a dodgy starter motor. After some fiddling I finally got it going and all seemed ok and off we went on our 200km journey.
About half way there the charge light decided to come on intermittently, we pushed ahead and got to Hobart without further incident. Next morning similar scenario, wont start and after further fiddling the car started without issue and no sign of a charge light illuminated so far so good. Fifty metres down the road the charge light returns and given I'm 200km from home I push on. With the exception of having to roll start it after getting fuel the rest of the journey was reasonably uneventful.
Then, Just to cap off a weekend I would rather forget, When we arrived home and I went out side to check the property and the menagerie, all seemed ok except I could not find Suzie the dog. After an extensive search, I finally found Suzie laying under a tree in the backyard, extremely unwell, poor breathing, anaemic cannot stand (typical snake bite symptoms). Unfortunately despite rushing her to the vet, Suzie passed away in my arms as I carried her into the examination room in the vets. All in all, what with the death of our dog, my wife's illness, all the car troubles and the local bushfires I'm completely over 2013 bring on 2014.
Ok that's it [rant mode disengaged]
