From the title of this thread you have more than likely guessed I am changing a front lower wishbone arm , my problem the bolt at front inner of arm has siezed in bush , so all is turning but going nowhere. This is the one you access through chassis so the air out side my house has been coloured a darker shade of blue today with all the technical swearing, Any one got suggestions apart from scrap the bloody thing or set fire to it?

I believe people resort to cutting an access hatch in the subframe.

some one HELP please as I am running out of swear words ( and I am very creative in the swearing and cussing side of MGF ownership). Seriously though folks this is frustrating as it is a moderatly simple, straight forward job in theory LOL.

As Daz is taking subframes off and on day in day out, try asking him for advice in a PM.

nightmare plus, it is not captive nut in chassis broken away, it is inner bush siezed solid to bolt ( I know it is not nut as I have cut hole in subframe to find out) I am now going to bang me head on the wall for awhile.

Just to confirm that it is the inner sleeve of the bush that is rusted to the bolt.

I presume you've tried soaking it in plusgas?

yes tried soaking it, swearing at it and generally any thing else that could possibly move it, all to no avail.

The bolt must have stripped in the captive bush!!! if the captive "nut" in the subframe is not turning, the bolt should thread its way out of the captive nut and pull through the suspension bush
