its issus at the moment is the block connectors on the loom.we have an alterator to fit in the morning and we are sorting out the engine area, the wishbone is then done and she we join mr watsons car for the subframe issue.
your car has had a few people play around with it im afraid and we are just trying to get her looking like a mgf,she has corrosion in her and this can be seen on the body work,we rae going to spray some anti rust stuff on the underside, just to help her a bit,it wont undo the rust but will slow it down a bit,
she isnt really helping her self at the moment as she seams to have a intermitant fault that causes her to stop.so its a damaged wire somewhere.what isnt helping is that we dont see many steptonics in so im a bit rusty on the things that can cause issues.if the battery can keep its charge and the aternator is fitted her electrics will work.
we have a differant ecu on at the moment.

I offered up Jon as an alternative to Russell if you want it done quickly. We all know how busy Russell is.

Sorry David, I think you we're typing as I was, I will more than likely give Jon & Russell a call, to see who's available. At the moment It is not a priority as I have a very sick gran in hospital, so I am travelling back and forth to the midlands, which also means no money coming in.

The frustrating part is that having got it through the MOT I was hoping to see the winter out and then get it down to Daz and get some work done there.

Just a quick question regarding HGF, Is it a common thing for the engine to lose power and cut out with HGF?

Now that makes sense. One other quick question, is it a must do to have photos of the engine showing the mess following HGF, everyone seems to have them!

I am beginning to think I have bought a pig of a car :(

My commiserations. I bought mine in May last year, checked the receipts and service history and found that a new head gasket had been fitted by an MG specialist in 2009 so I thought I would be OK yet in October last year my head gasket went. This was after the head gasket on my 25 went in the August but at least I'd owned that for 7 years
