I also used a 16mm drill circle thing so the fit is super tight. Some pics.

I want to try this for myself, checked the cupboards and no rice of any kind, but found a pack of Ainsley Harriet's cous cous will that do?
Cannot think of any other use for it.

well done Leigh another ace HOW TO

I have used the diswasher tab method and it certainly cleared out the coolant system prior to changing the coolant.

But never been able to get the bottle that clean so will try your method

How did you get permission to use the kithen sink!!

Happy Christmas to all

Just a note of warning: Bleach + Vinegar = Toxic Chlorine Gas. While the combination does create a good disinfectant, these two common cleaning agents should never be used at the same time. Why? ... Adding any weak acid to bleach will release toxic chlorine and chloramine vapours

Always wear the correct safety clothing and dispose of the rice carefully.

That's why you shouldn't put bleach down the toilet and then pee down it afterwards!!! :coat:

It's a long time since this post has seen any action but I have to say The Method Works! :)
I got quite a bit of the brown residue out with a bottle brush (It was nowhere near clean though!)
then followed with an overnight soak in hot water with dishwasher soap. Then a good rinse followed by the shake with a mixture of
bleach and rice (Basmati :) )
The only thing I would add to the instructions is, if you have a coolant level float in the tank to make sure that it isn't stuck in place with
grains of rice. I also covered the cap opening with plastic wrap to keep rice out of the valve. One other tip.....I used the pointy ends off tubes of sealant to plug the holes while shaking. (All but the smallest one which I plugged with a finger.) It saves getting bleachy rice all over the kitchen.

Yes I remember using this method of rice and bleach...after I cleaned the tank i had a good inspection to see how clean it was and noticed stress cracks coming from the outlet tube..
