  • I drove around without door cards in place or carpet for three months during Summer several years ago until I felt I had got the adjustments near enough.
I took the carpet up because of the water leaks, but took the opportunity to clean it and give the floor pan a good clean and a coat of paint.
When I eventually put it all back together it felt really good sitting in the driver's seat.

I do agree it's frustrating when the thread just stops. It's good to help people and it should be unconditional, but it's also nice to have appreciation; which I think in most cases happens on the TBar.
That said we do have to consider that some people using this excellent forum who just cannot respond to the thread in a reasonable time frame to keep the thread updated to its conclusion. However, that doesn't excuse them from concluding the thread at a later date.
A lot of the information within the T Bar is historical, but still very relevant, but it just needs a search through the files rather than a "new topic" created.
Personally, I prefer to search for the information myself or work it out on the job, but willing to help out with suggestions if I feel what I know is useful.
I have noticed that comments on all the forums do tend to die off during Autumn and Winter and resurrected in Springtime. I suppose this is relative to the cars being in use, and not laid up.
Now I feel that I'm moaning so I'm off for a double Southern Comfort with plenty of ginger ale.

  • Spent a few hours of my life trying to resolve water leaks through the door seals in my F and TF, but that was some time ago.
Have you tried adjusting the blue plastic serrated shim marked G on the diagram. Be careful to mark its position before altering it so you can move it back if you need to.
When slackened off the shim will move up and down which slightly alters the vertical camber. Maybe this will get you the contact with the stop you need?
Bit of a trial and error to get it right or near enough I'm afraid, you will need patience with these adjustments.

  • Replaced mine on both cars as they were crap and falling in bits. Used dense foam yoga mats cut to shape using a cardboard template.
    Cheap, lighter and looks better.
