Electric window not working drivers side 11 years 7 months ago #69216

I have a MG TF 2003, four years now. My drivers side window doesn;t work. HAve changed switches but they work on left fine. Tried to swap fuses and only one fuse works in left hand window. So I swap F4 and F5 and left and right windows don't work. Swap back and only the left hand side works. Does that mean it is the fuse as surely swapping fuses and the right window working would mean this? I have had the window regulator and motor replace brand new a few months ago. Any suggestions to what else it could be?

Welcome any suggestions.

Elaine

:welcome: Elaine. Stand by for some answers and suggestions. Are you talking about a fuse or a relay? I'm off to check your manual. (it's free in our downloads section above).

Well, here's some of what's in the manual.

Is this different from the motor and mechanism inside the door, as I had a new motor and mechanism fitted this year couple of months ago as teeth had worn away

Click on them to zoom in for a better view. They're screenshots because you can't 'copy and paste' from the manual.

I'm not sure how to change the under bonnet fuses, as I've never had to do one. Anyone? They appeared to be screwed in.

could it be the F18 fuse as it says this controls the lift on F4 and F5. How do I check. It is strange that I can swap fuses and both don't work, but when I put them back the left window works, which suggests something isn't getting through to that fuse socket.
