So I started building the coolant alarm a, bit today.

Drilled a hole into a switch blank drilled the hole in the spare header tank and installed the float valve then it started raining

A few questions

What is the best place to get a live from? I might buy a fuse feed wire..

Next what's best place to earth the wires?

Then my plan is to have a test run with the kit in the car then disassemble and do a how to addition for the benefit of me and you

Cheers

How to will contain measurements of everything because drilling into your expansion tank is scary stuff if it goes wrong

I picked up my feed here. ie the orange wire. It is already protected by a fuse but if you want to go belt and braces you could add an inline fuse say 1amp. Good luck ps If you look at the black wire which disappears to the right there is an earthing point there. Protected by fuse No17.

Dont worry about the pressure tank, its only about 1 Bar . The float switch seal will easily handle that.
Float switch rated at 4bar.

The B&G kit picks up it's power from a wire that runs across the top of the gearbox and uses the ground on the L/H side of the engine bay next to where their electronic unit sits. Mind you, if your unit is located in the fuse box area that the provided spare power points there are your best source as ianovic pointed out.

Have just fitted the electronics by fusebox but I took ignition feed from rear of radio, LED fitted in switch blank and also buzzer in electronics box ,just need to feed sensor wire to rear of car and will pick up and drill a spare tank from Auto Salvage tomorrow and fit it.
If it all works will then have a spare tank available to move on.

I practiced on a spare tank but drilled the hole a bit high making the nut a bit hard to screw on so will try again on the sparebbefore committing to the real life attempt
