The Y-Type was almost the first MG to have a monocoque construction, however the initial plan to use a Morris Ten Series 'M' monocoque construction was overruled and production of the Y was based on the Morris Eight Series 'E'.

So it came to pass that the title of first MG with monocoque construction went to the Magnette ZA which was launched in 1953 at the London Motor Show with deliveries starting in March 1954.

Want to win a T-Bar mug? As they say, watch this space.

I will be posting a multi part question about F/TF and the T-Bar, tomorrow, Thursday evening sometime between 7 and 8pm.

So to win the T-Bar mug don't worry you won't need to be an MG historian or have MG anorak credentials, just be ready Thursday evening.

The first person to post the correct answer to all parts of the question will win a T-Bar mug.

Remember these mugs are not for sale and can only be won on the T-bar.

Previous winners of a T-Bar mug need not answer..... you can't have two, that would just be greedy.
