been busy yesterday and had a go fitting a cambelt to the mg.well i have fitted at least over 70.000 cambelts on the k series engines, yes thats thousands on the track at longbridge. but never fitted any on a engine in a car till now, what fun i had yesterday , fitted a water pump, tensioner and belt, refilled the cooling system with water and theres a leak comming from the water pump . all off again, the rubber seal had slipped as i put the pump on but luck should have it i had a spare, bit of hylomar hold it place and bobs your uncle up and running no leaks. so i redrained the system and flushed it new anti freeze in and the mg is good for least 4 more yrs, glad i did the cambelt as the guy i bought the car off said it was done 2 yrs ago, but i dont reckon so as by the look of the belt it was old and worn
would i do this again yes definately
swear factor over 500% but hopefully will subside the next time i do it as you live n learn
will post some pics when i find my camera usb
