Cheers Mark but once you take the old carpet off the door panel they sit in their own surrounded hole on the door panel
They only look more proud on my door as its covered with leather

Jon, I would be interested in the kick panels, but obviously totally cost dependant.

Uncannily, they 'adapt the hub'.

To fit differring sizes of alloy wheels I believe. The adaptor pushes out the wheel thus giving clearance to the brakes for safe operation.

Leigh my mechanical knowledge is on a par with my tolerance for cockerels

I guessed they did something like that so does that mean any size wheel can be put on ?

The hub adapter allows you to use none MGF/TF wheels with a different PCD.

The term PCD stands for Pitch Circle Diameter and is the diameter of a circle drawn through the centre of your wheels bolt holes. PCD is measured in millimetres and also indicates the number of studs or bolts the wheel will have.

One of the most common fitment has 4 studs and a PCD of 100mm, hence the fitment 4x100. We have a very rare PCD of 95.25mm which is a throw back to the old imperial 3 3/4 inch PCD used on small Triumph cars, such as the Spitfire and the Dolomite. For more MGF/TF Interesting Facts see this T-Bar thread ~ MGF/TF QI Facts

You just need to be wary that the offset will be different so any new wheels should be checked to make sure they don't rub on the inner wings or any other part of the steering/suspension.

Re: Modifications in manufacture. Any interest? 12 years 1 month ago #44242

just a note of caution if the wheel is to far out (wider track ) then depending on the ofset of the wheel you could be utting more load on the wheel bairing so other wheel selection has to be taken into account

These spec hub adapters have been made since just about 1996 without any issues, while the some chavy thick spacers would be a problem these are very slim, put it this way if you had 185 wide tyres on the front and went to 205's it would be just about the same
