Ice Snow... and one wiper 12 years 3 months ago #39627

I've only got my self to blame! i forgot to turn the wipers off last night when using the car, so started it up this morning 7.30 and a windscreen full of ice and clunk... now i only have one wiper working. can i cable tie or bodge anything together or is it replacement linkage time :P

Windscreen wiper failure - Applying a temporary 'get you home', emergency fix. There's also a longer term solution in this guide.

I got told off for doing this the other day, never even really thought about it before

Ill be doing that a lunch then! another silly question will this work for the passenger side as well, as my drivers side works but the passenger doesn't :-?

This is a well known "feature" of these cars. When my drivers side one went I got a kit from Summit which did both sides. I keep them greased now as it's a faff to change them.

It should work as both sides use the same dodgy metal ball in a plastic socket.
Cable ties work as a get-you-home repair. Paul PQD used a hot glue gun to create a more permanent fix.
