yeah, I considered these before finally going for winter tyres. The socks are certainly cheaper than 4 new winter tyres, the only problem I envisaged was forgetting to take them off when I reached a gritted road and shredding them.
For the Nissan, I've just picked up a set(4) of part worn m&s Winter tyres for £84 delivered. And intend to just leave them on 'till April.

Saw a complete idiot in a Merc completely trashing his snowsocks when the first lot of snow melted down here. All that was left was slush in the supermarket car park and the roads were completely clear.
Back with front wheel drive and 181HP at the wheels
