That is a very good read. It explodes a lot of myths about the 'K' series.
It also makes me happy about the new gasket/steel dowels/relocated PRThermostat that my 'k' now has.:yesnod:

A very interesting read, but if it is the bloke I'm thinking of he is very arrogant and won't listen to ideas unless they are his own. He slags off Scholar engines on a regular basis, so much so that they don't even bother replying to his "Lies" anymore, that's their words, not mine.

He does seem very knowledgeable, but I prefer to take my info from many sources and make my own mind up, and with him it is his way or nothing. You push any point of view that doesn't meet with his approval and you are in for a world of sarcasm and derision.

after reading this article brings back memories of problems with the liners. back in the mid ninetes i remember we had to visualy check every liner before fitment for hair line cracks.this resulted in two men visualy checking thounsands of liners in stock. the company who supplied the liners blamed the hair line cracks on transportaion to the assembly lines. i recall that it was down to poor manaufacturing of the liners.the early years of the k liners we used sealent around the middle of the liners prior to fitment.

I'd be happy if I could get a reliable 225-250bhp

I think it would sort of put it in the range of the rest of the car and make it a nice balance all round

I would speak to Dave Andrews - DVAPower.com
he holds the current record for tuned K-Series engines :up

pretty sure theres no one in the UK more experienced with the K-Series...

Circa 280bhp on N/A engine...

Oz.
