Well, it's the 4th time it's been in now, but the crank is now back in the new 1.9L block. Hopefully that is the last time I take it out/put it back in.

First I cleaned up the sealant from the last time.

Fitted the shell bearings and added some assembly lube.

Carefully fitted the crank

Added a bead of sealant around the mating surface

Then flattened the sealant out

Fitted the bearing ladder and torqued up

Then I fitted 4 pieces of 10mm studding to the side of the block

So that I could fit the engine stand and get the engine off the dining room table. :)

Next job is to fit the pistons and conrods.

Hopefully I will get some done at the weekend.

Well, I'm building it with upgraded parts, such as steel crank etc, but it could still go pop at the first turn of the key. :)

The cams are standard. I have a brand new VVC headcomplete going on. The only thing it has had done is it has been gas flowed.

The pistons are custom made forged ones, to give a 9.5:1 compression ready for some boost.
