Hi all, I have finally almost got my new race engine almost ready to go back in the car, is only been off the road for about 5 months. The last of the bits to replace those that were broken by the transport company arrived this week, so today I started putting it back together. At the end of the today, the engine is in the sub frame, and as long as the weather holds tomorrow I'll be putting the sub frame back in the car. I still have a few small parts to source but is all looking positive finally

:woohoo:

I'm just waiting for some fine weather and the arrival of the new coolant temperature sensor, which I ordered off ebay last night. Then it will be game on. Here are some shots of the engine now that is almost ready to go back in the car

How so David? That is the original shielding in the original place, or how it came out of the car at any rate. The only change has been the removal of the Aircon Compressor and moving the alternator.

it may be standard for hot weather areas, as mine hasn't got it.

ahhh ok, to be honest I was thinking of dicing it completely and wrapping the pipes with heat lagging. What are your thoughts?

I know there is some debate whether wrapping the exhaust manifold pipes can cause excess heat in the head. I have no personal experience though.
