Scratched Rear Window 13 years 5 months ago #19119

Hi again

Anyone with knowledge please on removing scratches from my plastic rear window?

Replacements appear to be very costly!

There is a special plastic polish called 'Greygate', you can get it on ebay.
I usually just use Autoglym resin polish on both sides of the screen, buffed up it hides most scratches and you end up with a pretty clear screen.

You can get a replacement plastic screen fitted from about £75-£100.

Glass replacements can be had for about £200.

+1 for the Autoglym. It's worth keeping an eye on everyone's favourite auction site. I recently got a second hand roof with a brand new back window already fitted complete with its frame for £92. Took a bout half an hour to swap over.
Back with front wheel drive and 181HP at the wheels :)

Many thanks. Will try the polish first as it's not too bad - and you cannot see it when the hoods down. :silly:

The Graygate plastic polish is outstanding, it won't take out really deep scratches though. with a bit of elbow grease I found it to be better than the autoglym

I would agree that greygate is better at removing small scratches, but the Autoglym masks them more easily.
