Ha ha The CAT is Still on already!!!!!!!!..lol
As it is now I have two 60mm pipes on each side, the ends of the tails are rolled back in to give the smooth finish,
I don't want to damage them so this is the idea
two discs of metal plate cut slightly smaller than the internal diameter, but bigger than the rolled edge
then cut the centre out about 40mm, so it leaves a 10mm (thickness of the outer band) washer looking type thing, cut totally through one edge so it can be pulled apart like a bit of a spiral, take two small nut/bolts only need to be about 10mm and weld the nut to the plate so that when the bolts are tightened they extend past the outer edge of the spiral washer, the nuts only need putting on one plate
take a length of 40mm pipe about 100mm long, slot the pipe through the big washers one on either end, weld them in place with a slight spiral, remember to put the nuts on an out edge
The pipe should now be able to fit in tail pipe by twisting using the spiral, once in it shouldn't come out without twisting and can be locked in place with the two bolts tightened against the outer edge
What do you reckon???

That sounds like it might do the business. Blue Peter rools OK?
Can you mock something up beforehand to see if you get sufficient noise reduction?
mines got a TT, and a standard cat... its between 107 and 109db at 4500rpm (depending on air temp)... !!!
fine for airfield days but may need more silencing if Mrs Oz decides to start tracking it...
