I managed to find a break in the clouds to swap my roof for my bargain replacement. After a thorough clean and re-proof with Autoglym it look much nicer than the original and it's great being able to see through the back window.
One thing I have noticed is that the back window mists up very easily. Even with no one in the car. Is something like Mistx OK to use on a plastic back window?
P.S. Lots of thanks to CJJ for the excellent how-to. It saved much swearing.

Mine was doing the same thing when i got it and the water under the carpets was bad (smelly too) the car had been outside unused for two years. I decided that it was coming in through the air box (a later one cures the problem) Hope this helps:whistle:
Thanks guys. There was a bit of dampness under the mats but it's dried out after a good run. I need to adjust the driver's window to match up to the new roof properly. It's not leaking as long as you don't open the door or window while it's raining but there's a bit more wind noise than there used to be.
I've got a winter soft-top cover as well that will give it an extra layer of protection - I bought it to stop a neighbour's enormous fluff-ball cat from leaving hairs all over the roof.
If it ever stops raining down here I'll get out there and make a few adjustments.

One thought on the misting up is have you got loads of water in your car?
Stick your hand under the floor mats and see if it is wet underneath.
