any ideas why?

the door fits fine, took some adjustment but all is good but now there's a 5mm gap at the top of the window towards the front of the car and it doesn't slot into the cheater properly

Did the window come with the door? If so, it's probably adjusted to the old car/hood.

nah its my window mate, i'm assuming there is some adjustability somewhere
