Mindy (MGDragon) is organising a get-together to enable people to tinker/service their cars. A great opportunity to get help or advice about anything MG.

Service Day..North East..
Anyone fancy a service day in Shildon, DL4 1HF,Co Durham.....

Date: March 27th Time: 9.00am till Sunset (THE NEXT DAY)

BBQ available, if folks could help by fetching a few sausage, burgers much appreciated.

Buckets, Hot Water, hose pipe available for wash/polish/detailing.

Fit around 10 -12 cars in Workshop, also outside yard area

Welding equipment, compressor, bits n pieces

If folks fetch their tools, axle stands, etc, life would be easier

If any thing else required let me know and I'll see what I can Sort.

i saw this on t'other site and really wish i could come up even if it was just to stand around and be another pair of hands...still thinking about it but doesnt help that im out in leeds that night too for something i really dont want to miss

Count me in, didn't even know this was going on until Adam told me. I need to read the forums more often!

I'll come along to socialise and help out, maybe wash and detail my car if I'm not feeling lazy.

yep i'm confirmed, mindy you just said you have welding gear, does anyone have welding experience? i have a HUGE job to do but haven't done because i need someone who can weld/has a set

the welding itself will take 10 mins, but i need to angle grind something off.... edit i need someone who can angle grind to grind something off for me! lol

You guys might be able to track down the slow, slow, slow oil leak I have while I'm there, because I'll be damned if I can find where it's coming from. Not that I've taken more than 10 minutes to look or anything, because it's been too damn cold to be laying on the ground poking at equally ice-cold metal.

I'll bring some axel stands and a trolley jack along.

So you want us to lay on the cold ground poking around?

How slow is the leak? We are only there for a day.

The ground isn't as cold now, I just don't seem to have much free time.

The leak is quite slow, like 1 to 2 drips overnight, but it means I'm losing oil over time and I'm getting very tired of topping it up.

I'll bring burgers for the BBQ as incentive. :drool5:

I also don't know what the heck I'm looking at most of the time underneath the car. I see the sump and the filter.. and some.. other.. stuff..

CJJ would rather have Chocolate Hobnobs, so I've heard....

It was great to meet up with you all on Saturday, and put faces to names at long last. I am just sorry I had to head off early. Hope everyone got home safely.

we all had a great day, didn't do to well with the boot poppers but CJJ outdid himself with countless jobs, Rob got his new under floor pipes fitted, services were completed all round and I... well actually i accomplished nothing on my TF lol... fitting Robs Stainless coolant pipes was more fun
