TF engine cover carpet
it's such poor quality and makes access to the hood clips difficult.

You will find it on eBay & the service was great, at least from the lass I bought mine off.

I plan on doing this replacement later this year. I will use the various pieces as a template. As for insulation material, I was thinking of using a foil backed engine bay type insulation. You can find this material in Temu and eBay. The problem is always you don’t know what you are getting until it arrives.
Replacing the plastic molded carpet piece is more involved. I agree that it is not the best quality, but I do not plan to change mine.

The foam and engine bay deadening arrive on Wednesday and I have a carpet from a F in store's.
The plastic carpet thing in the TF is just wrong IMHO.

Airportable post=222833 userid=5200I’ve had the f for twelve years plus & I’m still messing with engine cover & accoutrements. I replaced a catch the other day using M4 rivnuts & Allen headed screws. It went well, so I drilled the lot off & replaced them all; as per an earlier comment, removing them with the lecy screwdriver takes half as long as struggling with the bastard things as originally fitted. I’ve rivnutted the retaining screw threads & used Allen screws again. A ball headed key in a the wizzy screwdriver shifts that lot smartish.
I think I’m finished arseing about with it now.
I'll put it on the list for next time! Add the shortened bolts and split washers to the front awkwards on the engine cover and jobs a breeze!
I read somewhere that the hood was designed by Pininfarina. Might explain something.

For the most part we are fiddlers, requiring access so we can poke about in its gizzards, thus it is us who get frustrated with its idiosyncrasies, as opposed to the mechanics into whose lap it would notionally fall.
I would rather struggle, than have something that looks like the cousin of engine drivers hat.

My frustration with the TF has been, because I have had cover on and off so many times over the last few weeks.
All sorted..for now

The hood well carpet fits okay at the rear and along the rear bulkhead even though it is stiff, except for over the seat belt recoilers (my TF has the Rover X-Power hoop brackets also) where it appears to have shrunk and doesn't meet the bulkhead. I was wondering if could be reformed to fit using a hot air blower?
I see Rimmer Bros have both the hood well carpet and sound insulation pad listed in their catalogue, are they still available and what is the quality like?
