Lets go back in time now.and have a look at the few women to make it in f1.......1970s.............Devina galica......once held a down hill speed record of 125mph............blimey on skis...................and then drove in f1
Cars and drivers-my earliest memory of f1 was in the 1970s.............and my all time fav car is the jps lotus with the number 1....................the black and gold paint job..
as i recall these cars were driven by emerson fittipaldi and ronnie peterson.
Ronnie peterson was involved in a f1 crash in the late 1970s..........his life may have been saved, but emergency crew gave another driver involved in the collision priority, has ronnie only seemed to have leg injuries.....................he died later in hospital from marrow entering the bloodstream...........The other driver survived.
I almost got run over by Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal in 1979.
He was driving a Honda Accord at the time.
I cheered the next day when Alan Jones beat him to the checkered flag.
Here's a pic of a real Grand Prix Driver
I took this pic of pre-war Mercedes driver Hermann Lang at Laguna Seca in 1986. At age 77!
(And we complain about MGFs without power steering!)
I have so little interest and knowledge about F1 that I was not even aware they had women drivers. I do recall the JPS Lotus cars from the mid 1970's but that is about it.
