The latest issue of Car Mechanic magazine has a piece on buying parts for the F and TF. But I'm not sure I would take their advice after reading the caption to this photo:
Sorta makes one a bit cautious about following any advice that CM offers.... It has always been shit, tbh, since the 70's and no doubt previous to that.
'Stop annoying brake squeal by applying engine oil liberally to pads and discs'
'Increase front brake pad life by only ever using the handbrake to stop. Or just coast to a halt.'
'When opening the bonnet of an F or TF, you will note that the engine closely resembles a spare wheel. Also, a common trick of sellers is to try and hide an old engine in the boot. Don't be fooled...'
'Don't dismiss the under-rated TF Diesel engine option: though only a two cylinder 874cc normally aspirated unit, 0 to 60 times of under 2 minutes are attainable by a sporting driver. The mpg of 120 is not to be dismissed either.'
'A family-friendly 4 door TF hatchback is available'
'Music cassette storage is available in the the glove box lid on the 2005 model year....'
I may have made some of the above up....
