As a kid I used to like visiting London the train fare was about 20p yes it was quite a while back. We lived half way between London and Brighton just north of Gatwick Airport. It was 5p on the train the Three Bridges station where one had to change lines to get to Crawley Town station so we tended to use the bus for Crawley.
My last trip into London was last January to collect "Blue 33" from Richmond ins South London and the roads were in shocking condition. That train trip cost £29 .
