It was Sheila's funeral today It was as good as a funeral could be and it was a very big turnout, which just showed how well thought of both Sheila and David are. We joined the procession shortly after it set out, and we turned a few heads with 6 MGFs and TFs following the rest of the family. It might have been the cars or the fact we were all wearing Christmas jumpers. We did feel a little out of place turning up in our jumpers, but it soon became apparent that most knew who we were.
There were tears, laughter and lots of memories, both shared and personal. The music at the service was a mixture of Sheila's favourites and gave an insight into her varied tastes.
The gathering after the funeral was a credit to David and the venue was packed with people who welcomed us strangers and shared stories with us over some nice food. The walls were covered with pictures of Sheila and David through the years, from when they first met, up to and including the Christmas jumper photo from The Border Patrol Christmas party.
Sheila will be missed by us all, but she will always be with us on our trips and parties in our hearts.
Many thanks to David for inviting us and allowing us show our love for him and Sheila.
