The other thing is with it being a TF you will be able to get/use a cheap OBD2 reader. That will tell you what fault codes are stored in the ecu.

my boyfriend already has a usb ELM 327 interface cable, is there any free software that I can download to my laptop? He got it to use on his alfa but the software is for alfa only

These guys are near Burnley and are all MG Rover trained mechanics I'm sure they'll sort your problem out and wont charge you the earth.

We've used Primrose in the past they will be ok for you or Phoenix Motorsport in Ossie Lotus guys but good with the K series.

HI, from your description it sounds like what I had mine was cured with 2-3 tanks of Shell petrol 1st tank 99 octane and a long run 25mls+, 4 times in a week
BILSTIEN DAMPERS, 4-2-1 MANIFOLD, HEAD WORK BY SABRE.

OK some codes now
Don't know how long they've been in there, so they've now been cleared to see if any come back.
These were the codes:-

P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected

Will take it for a run and see what happens

A missfire can throw up the cam shaft position sensor fault too. So I would be checking no 2 plug, lead and connection.

All sorted now.. got a mobile mechanic out. New coil fitted and runs like a dream. I would recommend this guy George Reid Tuning tel no 01254 885477
