First my TT mk7 contracts a bad case of flatulence.

Secondly I'm really struggling to find insurance at an affordable price this year (Thanks to the two braindeads who drove into me the last two years)

Finally, Just went to put the roof down for a bit of topless fun in the dark with a friend and this happened:

Makes the perils for folding your plastic screen in the cold seem like a walk in the park!

I'm hoping as it's less than a year old it will be under warranty... I'll be calling MGF Mania in the morning!

One upside is that Lauren has just put her hardtop on for the winter, so I've knicked it! She does look rather odd in pearl black with an amaranth roof!

Things can only get better now!
What's up with your Mk 7? speaking as one with a glass screen and a Mk 7 and who is a born pessimist.....
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I suspect it's lost the sound deadening material from the right hand silencer. It sounds like a blown exhaust, except the whole system is airtight. If you cover the right hand pipe and force it all out the left hand pipe than never really gets used it sounds normal again.

To be fair Neil has said when the 7/3's come in he will try one of them on my car and if it cures it we can swap and he will dissect it to see what's gone wrong

Yes it really did, Those who have a glass rear screen will be familiar with them being fairly tight and getting to a certain point before popping down, well this time mine popped and shattered at the same time.

Ouch! Sorry to see that happen and hear about the troubles with the insurance and exhaust. Only had one idiot drive into me, thankfully its not hit the TF insurance too much, but added over £70 to the daily drive's insurance.

Shop around with the insurance and try some of the specialists, as for the glass screen, I hope you get that sorted soon.

I do that as well, but that's not the bit that's stiff.

FWIW Lauren's car with an '05 TF screen is the same, as is her dad who has my old black MGF Mania one.

And there's me thinking that my mgfmania rear screen would loosen up over time. Thanks for the heads up Chris. :broon:

I doubt if 'Gavin' from autoglass would be of any use on this one.

oooh nasty :(

I'm sure it should be covered under warranty, or under Sale of Goods Act at the very least- that says it has to be Fit for Purpose and last a 'reasonable period'...the reasonable period for a glass screen designed to be folded musy be more than a year I'd have thought??? :-?

Speak to Peter, hopefully he'll soon have you sorted out the you can enjoy your driving again :drive:

On first fitting, mine was really scary to lower the roof. Now it folds back really easily.
Has this one not loosened up over time?
