hi as you know john takes the mik out od the astra and calls me a chave

WELL HE IS JUST JELOUSE as he wants to be a chave but carnt handle it heres the proof

How heavy is the Astra? I'm just curious as it looks just like the hardtop, so if they have just cut the roof off they would have to strengthen the chassis somehow.

john on the last run i did with the mgf and tf groupe the astra out ran a 160 with ease :broon:

just to let you know the 1.8i astra has a low output gear so i lose on top end but gain in the acceleration stakes

the astra is the same as the saab 900 convrtable same shassy different body panels

I was a marshall on some Autotests for the MG Car Club last year. It was on tarmac and featured MGs from the thirties up to MGBs no one brought an F or TF but one chap brought a diesel Astra estate and he ended up being faster than a lot of the others who were trying hard and burning rubber. i had an Astra hatch for about 5 years and was a super car and "did what it said on the tin" :thumbsup:

I've sold our '52 1.6 SXI to get the MG TF !

Although I really can't complain, the only thing other than consumables and rear Exhaust box was a fron Caliper, just as i was selling it at 96K miles - so really was/is an excellent car.

Anyhow, this is an MG appreciation society not a Vauxhall one......... :thumbsup:
