ooh yes pdq44 the jag its stunning. but if i did have to change it would be another mgtf in white, just love the tinkering of putting it right and its british.

Maybe you should have specified it should be a car that we could afford to maintain! 
If the exotic cars were discounted, and the vintage cas as well (I have gone the vintage car daily driver route before, not again!
) that would leave interesting sensibly priced modern cars.
Our selection of European cars over here in NA is a lot smaller than in the UK leaving mainly Asian cars which don't really do anything for me. The S2000 is nice but not something I would consider, and I don't care much for the MX% other than the Mk1.
I would probably go for the Fiat 500 (even though ours are made in Mexico) They are well appointed, the Abarth version goes well, and they have character. There is even (sort of) a convertible version.
