Pictures

Reading a lot of the How-To's, the images are not appearing, well at least not for me, and there appears no way to see them, are there any suggestions on how to remedy this.


 

I dont think there is a way to fix this. I think the photos were stored externally and that the membership (held personally by the article authors) to the photo storage platform expired ( a long time ago). Its unfortunate as many of the images in the how tos are no longer visible.  

Actually there is additinal info which needs to be mentikned which is relevant to forum users in the UK, as a lot of thread pictures are linked from Imgur. Instead of seeing the pictures, you get a ‘content not viewable in your region’ message. Viewing through a VPN can get around this problem.

Where the authors are still current on the forum it could be an idea to PM them a link to the relevant post and ask if they still have local copies of their photos they could upload.

A lot of the problem is the fault of the greedy arseholes at Photobucket  which was a free photo hosting service until the new owners decided to hold everyone's pictures to ransom.

This forum like most others at the time would require pictures to be hosted off site, via a 3rd party such as pissbucket.
They changed their business model and refused everyone access to their own pictures until their membership coughed up cash, this, by and large failed as next to nobody fell for their extortionate practice. They still send me several emails daily, threatening that they "will SOON delete my photos" if I don't pay them, some ten years later. 
Obviously this remains a hollow threat as the photos are still there, just that I and the forum can't access them. I suspect they can't legally delete them!

I cures them:
May their chooks turn into emus and kick their dunnies down!
May the cop a dose of great galloping pizzle rot cause their willies to go green and pustulant before eventually dropping off!
May an army of tax auditors spend eternity doing a totally thorougher inspection of all the nooks and crannies up the investor's arseholes using a very large microscope! 
May their banker's recover their investments by turning in to vicious pimps and they turn the vomitbucket owners out on to the streets selling their  arseholes to drunken pox ridden clients!
May this list of misfortunes and unpleasantries to befall them never end!..................

I think you get the idea of the low regard I hold them in.
