Hi what makes you think that MGMANIA no longer exists, and for how long has this been the case?

Many a slip between cup & lip.
I was following MGB281’s thought path by preparing a set of Mini callipers & fitting larger discs to the front. All was prepared until a set of four pots arrived in my workshop, followed in rapid succession by the matching discs.
I decided on the four pots for my upgrade; it was not pain free.
The transfer of the original system to the now refreshed new, found the geometry out, causing the brakes to bind & a post machining ding prevented the disc indexing with the hub. I also bought a set of stainless bleed screws which didn’t seal 🦭, pissing brake fluid over the freshly painted callipers.
Fortunately I am equipped with both shim stock & tools to overcome these frustrations; had this series of problems been faced by a less well equipped owner there could have been serious problems for them further down the road.
I am supremely blessed with my facilities (thanks dad) & you can overcome problems with much less but first you have to have the wit to identify the problem.

D4KP: I believe that MGMania no longer exists, because there have been several comments to that effect, either on this site or possibly MG-Rover.org. Either way, they said that the owner said he was retiring over a year ago, then was told the guy had sadly passed away. His widow was trying to wind-up the business.

My own experience is that about 2 years ago, he no longer had stock of the 280mm disc kit, and he did not intend to have a new batch made. He also said he was "trying to retire"
Do you know better/different??

There isn't a huge benefit  if you use the Mini callipers other than a 280mm brake disc doesn't fit properly into callipers designed for 240mm discs, having said that the only minor fault is that the pads over hang the edge of the disc. Using the Mini callipers that were designed  to take IIRC 276mm discs I was actually able to go to 294mm discs (early Mini Cooper S) on the front and 276mm on the back. The other upside of the Mini callipers is the greater choice of brake pads, however I am running ATE pads on the front and Mintex on the rear and the braking is very well balanced.
