Due to ill health I've decided to sell my low mileage black MGTF LE 500 No. 493

19,500 approx miles only...MOT to Aug 2016

History:

I bought Ellie in August 2013 for £6,500 intending to keep her
She had a major service and belts replaced by Mike Stafford shortly after purchase
Since then Mike has replaced the coolant and I have changed the oil and filter every year and modified her where I felt improvements could be made.

Replaced mild steel exhaust manifold and downpipe with 2005MY stainless steel version. As a result the restrictive pre-cat in the exhaust manifold was replaced.

If anyone is considering this - it is a well cared for car and defiantly worth a look.

I may wait until Spring if I can't recoup at least a significant portion of the cost of buying her. Not looking to recoup the cost of the mods because that was me enjoying myself and you can't put a figure on that. Alternatively, I would consider exchanging for a low mileage Disco 2 automatic.

Hope you get a good price for this LE500, why did you replace the factory fitted Blister dampers?? I believed that all LE500s were fitted with them??

I think all the TFs from 2005 onwards had the 'soft springs' but the Bilsteins and the thicker anti-roll bar were only standard on the 85th anniversary model. Vehicle Handling Solutions has after market kits and I guess this is what the MGOC sell-on.

Correct Richard..only the 85th were fitted with the Bilsteins and thicker ARBs...It's a much voiced fallacy that the LE500 had Bilsteins etc as standard. They didn't..The LE500 wasn't bad with the standard fittings but there is a definite but subtle improvement after upgrading to 85th spec..../David

I think the next thing on my list was to get stripes...and then maybe Lambo doors..maybe..but obviously not now...
