I have a 1997 MGF MPi which I converted to VVC and added the DVA Power K06a kit in 2007. This kit worked a little too well and it made a whopping 164 wheel bhp (on stock MPi pistons). That is 60 wheel bhp more than stock which was 104.
Believe me it was fun to drive with about 190 engine bhp.
In 2008 the engine "blew" because of porosity in the head casting. Currently I'm back to MPi and I'm sourcing parts for the VVC engine rebuild. I still need a block + uprated pistons.
As you might guess my F is heavily modified, but in a technical way. Some parts:
